A couple pre-game thoughts

Posted October 9, 2008

Alright... I'm coming to you live from Wake Forest's BB&T Field (Deacon Towers, specifically), which is brand-spanking new. Last time I was here, Wake Forest had one of the worst press boxes in the ACC. Now, it looks like one of the best. Amazing what $47 million can do, eh?

The weather is cool and cloudy but - for now - dry. It rained a bit on us on the way up here, but it's mostly just drab and blah. There's about a 30 percent chance of rain tonight, but I don't expect it to be a factor.

And in case you're wondering, this is a "tombstone" game for Clemson: the Deacs are ranked No.21 nationally. Clemson plants a tombstone at its practice facility for every top-25 road/neutral win it gets.

As for a couple of links, here goes: Wake Forest has called a a blackout for tonight's game. Apparently they didn't see what happened to Georgia a couple of weeks ago.

And Winston-Salem Journal columnist Lenox Rawlings suggests tonight's loser isn't dead yet. Clemson fans might beg to differ.
