Seeking celebrity endorsements

Posted January 25, 2008

I've noticed the rash of celebrities who have come out in favor of certain candidates.

Madeline Stowe supports John Edwards; Oprah supports Barack Obama; Roseanne supports Hillary Clinton; Sly Stallone supports John McCain; Chuck Norris supports Mike Huckabee; SpongeBob SquarePants supported Dennis Kucinich until he dropped out.

While not necessary to be elected, it certainly couldn't hurt if I had a celebrity endorsement. Therefore today I solicit the support of Eddie Steeples.

Eddie, of course, plays Darnell, aka Crabman, in the hit show "My Name Is Earle." The Texan is also a producer writer, and I believe if he got behind my campaign it would go a long way in securing the youth vote.

In addition he bears a slight resemblance to rapper Snoop Dogg, which could help bring in the rap/hip-hop vote and give me more street cred.

Anyway, Eddie, I'd love your support. If you get get other "My Name Is Earle" cast members on board that's be great, too.

Especially Jaime Pressley. Either way, ask her to call me.

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from your agent.

OK, no response from Eddie.
I'd now like to call upon Karl Childers of Sling Blade to help me out.
I'll supply the mustard and biscuits.
