Description: Seasonal events and holiday spirit can be found all across Georgia. Explore our decorated town squares, take in a performance, or enjoy one of our many holiday traditions that have become so popular among locals and visitors. Our mild winter temperatures offer opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities including holiday lights displays and festivals. The Lavonia Visitor Information Center will host a variety of Georgia’s tourism entities, so they can share their events, happenings, hotel discounts and so much more with locals and travelers.

Description: Anderson University will present the Fall Choral Excursions Concert, featuring the AU Choir, Chamber Singers, and West African Drum and Dance Ensemble in Henderson Auditorium on campus. Oconee Natural Choices Leader Talks to Oconee Democrats -- 11/21/09 at Jimmy's Family Restaurant-Seneca

Description: Alice Wald, chair of the "Natural Choices" component of Oconee County's vision plan for 2028, will speak at the monthly breakfast meeting of the Oconee County Democratic Party. Her talk will describe how protecting Oconee's beautiful natural environment is the number one "Natural Choices" objective of Oconee citizens. She will also detail how each person can become a part of this grassroots initiative.

Note: The meeting is FREE. If you wish breakfast, you can order off the menu and pay that cost.

2nd Annual Hurricane Hoopla Community Arts and Crafts Fair featuring local handmade items -- 11/21/09 at Wren High School

Description: Come and support your community and local crafts people and begin your Holiday shopping! This local arts and crafts fair features unique handmade items from over 50 talented artisans for those hard to buy for people on your list! Door prizes and raffles throughout the day. Items are donated by our crafters and artists and they are amazing. You do not need to be present to win. Breakfast, lunch and other concessions will also be available. All proceeds from this event will go directly back into the community - this event is sponsored by The Hurricane Pride Project - a nonprofit organization dedicated to the beautification and utilization of Hurricane Springs Park and the surrounding Wren Communities. Over 80 farms from as far away as UT, TX, IL, FL and SC will compete in the show ring. Fiber artists will demonstrate weaving, spinning and other uses for the world's finest, natural fiber - alpaca! Come browse the silent auction tables for treasures. Vendors will offer sweaters, vests, hats and more made of the luxurious fleece. 4-H, FFA and like organizations will enjoy learning about the alpaca farming option directly from owners who raise and show these animals.
