What do you get when you take five guys, dress them up like nuns and get them to put on a variety show to raise funds to bury a few of their “sisters”? The action of the new Electric City Playhouse production “Nunsense A-Men.”

Opening Friday, “Nunsense” brings the Little Sisters of Hoboken to the stage as the “sisters,” who are actually brothers, must put on a show to raise money to bury members of their habit who ate Sister Julia Child of God’s vichyssoise soup. Now they need money quick to get their sisters out of the freezer and into a suitable grave for all eternity.

Featuring five fellows who know a thing or two about the ECP, Reverand Mother Mary Regina is played by Paul Hyde, Sister Robert Anne by J. Todd Price, Sister Mary Hubert by Peter Summers, Novice Sister Mary Leo by Jason Price and Sister Mary Amnesia by Boyd Galloway.

The production is directred by Pat Shull and Beverly Henderson Simes. It opens Friday and runs Saturday, Aug. 15-16 and 22-23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday and Aug. 17 and 24 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students. The ECP is located at 514 N. Murray Ave. in Anderson. For more information, call 864.224.4248.
