The life of Bailey Hanks, new leading lady of Broadway’s “Legally Blonde The Musical,” has been a whirlwind since February. She auditioned for a show searching for the next Elle Woods, she won that competition and a six-month contract with the producers of the Broadway sensation, and she opened last month to rave reviews and plenty of media commotion.
In two weeks, Hanks will share a little of that changed life with the people to whom she attributes much of her success.
On Monday, Aug. 25, Hanks will return to Anderson for the first time since moving to New York City in April to meet and greet fans and receive deserved recognition from her hometown.
At 5 p.m., she will meet privately with Robb Alverson and the Alverson Center Theatre players for a time before going to Anderson City Hall at 6 p.m. for a Key to the City presentation before the Anderson City Council meeting that night.
Around 7 p.m., Hanks will head to the Civic Center of Anderson, where her family, friends and fans can meet the “Legally Blonde The Musical” star, secure autographs, buy “Legally Blonde” merchandise and hear Bailey sing “So Much Better” from the production.
“She knows the support the community has given her over the years and has been so overwhelmed with that support on her MTV fan page,” said her father, Brad Hanks. “This is her hometown, and she wants to say ‘Thank you.’”
Bailey Hanks will only be in town the one day and will need to fly back to New York the following morning. After all, she must prepare for eight shows between Wednesday and Sunday of that week. But, at least for an evening, people who remember her from her days on the community stage can meet the newest Broadway sensation.

WOW! This paper is pathetic, the best they can come up with for Front Page is a 2 day old story. Try reducing everyone's pay check a little and hire a reporter. I can not belive anyone would pay to advertise in this paper. I can not belive it is in business still, pathetic, just pathetic.

Starflyer, I wish I did not, I read it because I want to be informed as to what is going on in my town. I get the national news online easily, unfortunately the local is hard to come by. The Greenville news does a pretty good job almost equal to AIM.
As to Baily Hanks, I think it is wonderful I am so happy for her we should be proud, I enjoyed reading the story on Friday, when it was news, to have it as cover story on Sunday evening is not news. I quess my comment had an impact as less than an hour later the headline changed.

Some people don't mind reading the bad news over and over. Put some garbage in there about the Obamination and they'll be much happier. Please don't repeat any good news. How boring!
