Mother and son face charges of assaulting Anderson deputies

STORY TOOLS

— A 32-year-old Anderson man and his 64-year-old mother are facing a charge of assaulting a police officer after she struck a deputy, and he slammed a door that broke in half around an Anderson County Sheriff’s deputy, according to a report.

Keith Evans, 32, of 119 Caleb Court was arrested about 7 p.m. Wednesday and charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, according to the incident report and records at the Anderson County Detention Center.

Responding to a complaint by Keith Evans’ wife that he used his fist to hit her vehicle, deputies confronted Evans, who “had a black ‘X’ painted on his chest” and was in a room with two loaded shotguns, Deputy E. F. Kelley said in the report.

After slamming the door and moving toward one of the weapons, deputies used their Tasers to stun Evans, the report states.

Then 64-year-old Mary Evans reportedly yelled at and struck another deputy. Also facing a charge of assaulting a deputy, Mary Evans was initially taken for an examination at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Good lord!! There must be some bad dope going around to make people act like this here lately!

What's the reason for the "black X painted on his chest"??!

in response to The_Shark

Sounds good to me!!

I don't want to turn this into a "taser" issue but this is yet another case where someones life was spared due to the taser. Pre taser, the officers would have been left with no option when the man went for the weapon other than to use lethal force. Our society in general has no idea how many of these people law enfocement comes in contact with daily.

Maybe Tony Stewart needs to do a ride-along with the police department and let him see what these guys go through to protect him and his family. And I realize these are county deputies but the city guys he so readily criticizes face these same kinds of dangerous situations. Kudos to the deputies. Thanks, guys.

The black X is a bullseye that means "Please, someone take me out of the gene pool." Too bad it was only a taser, I guess he is disappointed.

Ithink they must be huffing paint or something cause me and my mom were very close but not that close...

I hope this nutcase is NOT reproducing, there is obviously something wrong with the DNA!!
