Report: Belton woman in coma may have been poisoned

STORY TOOLS

— An unconscious 35-year-old Belton woman is undergoing medical treatment at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson after falling into a diabetic coma.

But an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office incident report states the woman may have been given “rattle snake venom mixed with methamphetamine” through her food. That report was not substantiated, however, through a toxicology report. Health officials said no methamphetamine was found in the woman’s blood and there is no way to text for snake venon, except during an autopsy.

The incident report claims the “poisoning” of the woman occurred between Aug. 8 and Aug. 13, and was reported on Thursday. The woman has a history of diabetes.

i would be questioning the friend who gave her brother the note.how did they know it was snake venom , and why wasnt there any meth in her system.this is a very strange story.

This is the most confusing story...."She is not sick but she is in a diabetic coma"?? If you ask me, a diabetic coma is a serious condition.
As for the rest of the story....meth., snake venom, I can't comment because I have NO earthly idea what Mr. Pearce Adams is trying to say!!!

in response to proud2busa

After reading this story I believe Adams has been injected with meth and snake venom !
I don't see how he could write such mind boggling sh*t without being on something!

in response to get_real

HA! That's funny!
You are right about that for sure!! He keeps me confused most of the time, I was starting to think I was loosing the stuffing out of my comforter, lol!!

Uhhhhhh yeah, ok. ~puzzled look on face~

in response to clemson_girl

most of this reporters stories does have that effect on people, me included.

I wish Pearce would clarify what he is trying to say...I agree it doesn't make sense.

Are you freaking kidding me??!!!!

"The woman, who reportedly is in a diabetic coma at AnMed Health Medical Center, is not sick, but she was poisoned with “rattle snake venom mixed with methamphetamine.”

What the h*ll kind of reporting is this? His headline is from a second-hand report from a friend, which was given to a family member. This is by far one of the most confusing and down right stupid stories Mr. Adams has given us in a while. The woman is probably in a diabetic coma like one sentence said, but Mr. Adams had to make the headline something crazy so that we would click on it.

Did they give her a shot for diabetes? I have heard that will bring them out of the coma sometimes. If she is in a diabetic coma, I would think she is pretttty sick.
Oh, pink_rfc, about your last sentence...it worked, didn't it?.....we click evertime. lol

It seems Mr. Adams enjoys reporting "news" that is intended tongue-in-cheek. Hopefully, this article is a reflection of his sense of humor, not a serious attempt at journalism.

It must have been a serious attempt seeing as how it has since been revised.

Wailing, yes you are right! I always click!

You know this is a heartless story.....My mom went into diabetic coma and come out but never was the same she died 5 1/2 months later. I never knew if she knew who I was all those months! Pearce this was not a refreshing story to write about at all...................................... and you even wrote they did not find meth in her blood....GET WITH IT!!!

"text for snake venon"

SPELL CHECK PLEASE! LOL

1: Where did they get this Adams guy? 2: And how does he keep a job?
3: These comments won't stay long he will delete them.

Jojo, I caught that one too... Was wondering how one "texts for snake venom." Does this mean there was a cell phone involved???

Also often wonder how Adams remains employed. Are reporter's stories no longer EDITED for content, or proofed?

And one more thing to add to this stupid act of reporting the news....why even write this article if there is nothing verifying the informaton you just printed. She's poisoned but there's no toxicology report to prove it. So you basically have no "poison" story here Pearce...and a diabetic coma is a very sick state to be in....idiot...
