Day after bonding out of jail, Anderson man doubles his bond burden

STORY TOOLS

— A day after being released on a $26,000 bond from the Anderson County Detention Center, an Anderson man asked a city court judge to let him sign his way out of trouble.

No way, the judge said, ordering the man to meet the requirements of a $25,000 property bond for possessing a stolen vehicle.

Richard Uldrick, 28, of New Prospect Church Road in Anderson said it took him seven months to raise enough money to meet his bond for armed robbery.

Anderson Municipal Court Judge Ken Mattison ignored Uldrick’s request for a signature bond, ordering a property bond of $25,000.

Uldrick is charged with possessing a stolen vehicle valued at more than $5,000.

Earlier, Officer Christine Cauthen testified that Uldrick was caught driving a vehicle that had been hijacked, and the vehicle was used in an armed robbery.

According to records at the Anderson County Clerk of Court’s Office, Uldrick is accused of armed robbery on Jan. 19 at the Bounty Land Quick Stop on S.C. 24 in Townville and a Jan. 7 armed robbery at the Hot Spot on Electric City Boulevard in Anderson.

coming out of anderson on the clemson highway, once you cross over I-85 , electric city boulevard is on your right just past the race-trac gas station. actually that is the hot spot station.

in response to flashback00

its in the last sentence of the story

Sounds as if Mr. Uldrick is up the creek without a paddle. He may want to save his money for a lawyer instead of posting bond.
