A Habitat for Humanity house was framed in one day by 20 volunteers. The volunteers were from churches in the Fair Play area. Mike Bear and Steve Chupp of Kauffman Truss Inc. supplied materials for the project. The group built the exterior walls, installed the trusses, the roof deck, felt paper and many interior walls by the end of the day.
Founded in 1986, the Oconee County Habitat for Humanity is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. For more information on volunteer work, donations or memorials call (864) 888-2118, email ochfh07@bellsouth.net or visit ochfh.tripod.com.
