STORY TOOLS

— Not every show has to carry a massive cast and run for weekends on end. Some of the best community theater productions involve little more than three actors and a stage.

That’s exactly what the newest Clemson Little Theatre production has in store for audiences starting at 8 p.m. Saturday and continuing at 3 p.m. Sunday.

For two days only, “Short-Haired Grace” will run at the CLT in Pendleton. With a cast of three — Kimberly Campbell, Lucy Rollin and Roger Rollin — and directed by Marty Bruehl, “Grace” is the story of Queen Elizabeth I as she confronts the plundering pirate ships on the Irish Sea. But this pirate actually is Grace O’Malley, considered one of the most famous pirates of her day.

The performance is free and open to the public, and it’s based on an actual conversation between these two powerful women late in their careers.

The running time is 75 minutes. For more information, call 864.646.8100. The Clemson Little Theatre/Pendleton Playhouse is located at 214 S. Mechanic St. in Pendleton.
