BELTON, SC - Alyson Nicole Lance and Brent Robert Nelson were married July 19, 2008 at Second Baptist Church with Dr. Mitchell Brooks officiating. A reception followed at the Anderson Arts Center.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Montie Lance of Anderson, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mr. George Lance and the late Mrs. Lois Lance and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Land, all of Belton.The groom is the son of LTC (Ret) and Mrs. Karl Nelson of Marietta, GA. He is the grandson of COL (Ret) and Mrs. Robert Nelson of Wolfeboro, NH andMr. Kenneth Hill and the late Mrs. Joan Hill of Greer.Maid of Honor was Julie Lance of Anderson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mandy Baker of Easley, friend of the bride, Lindsay Davis and Jennifer Moore of Belton, cousins of the bride, Melissa Putney of Charlotte, NC and Kristen Taylor of Greenville, friends of the bride. Best Man was Ricky Elrod of Kennesaw, GA, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Kevin Meadows of Mount Pleasant, and Rhett Mouzon of Charlotte, NC, friends of the groom, Matt Nelson of Marietta, GA, brother of the groom, Greg Richardson of Florence, Zack Taylor of Greenville and Skylar Young of Morris Plains, NJ, all friends of the groom. The bride is a 2006 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science Teaching. She is a Biology teacher at Mauldin High School. The groom is a 2006 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is an engineer with Caterpillar Marine Power Systems. After a surprise wedding trip the couple will reside in Simpsonville, SC.
