Georgia’s unemployment rate was up in June by 1.3 percent from 4.4 percent at the same time last year according to the Georgia Department of Labor. The rate was unchanged at 5.7 percent from May to June.
The state’s adjusted rate is two-tenths of 1 percent higher than the U.S. seasonally-adjusted rate. Early unadjusted data indicates a loss of 21,900 payroll jobs in Georgia from May to June. The losses were spread across manufacturing, construction, trade and services.
