Belton man jailed for alleged lewd acts with teen boys

STORY TOOLS

— A Belton man is awaiting trial with a $10,000 property bond after his arrest Monday for performing lewd acts on teenage boys.

Kevin Lollis, 32, of S.C. 20, charged with two counts of committing lewd acts, was released from the Anderson County Detention Center on Wednesday morning, according to Susann Griffin of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

The alleged crimes took place about 1 a.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of Clemson Boulevard in Anderson, according to the incident report.

The alleged victims, ages 14 and 15, told deputies that a man touched, rubbed and squeezed them in areas below their waists, according to the report.

Good idea kenny!

The comments above are awful. Here is an idea: Blame the perp not the kids or the parents! Yes, the kids should not have been out so late at night...but HELLO this guy molested them! Everyone needs to blame the person who committed this terrible crime against two teens. It doesn't matter if it was 9am, 12noon or 1am...these kids did not deserve or ask to be abused (nor did their parents send their kids out at 1am hoping they'd be abused)- Mr. Lollis should be receiving all of the negative comments.

With a quick google search I found out that the 4100 block on Clemson Blvd is the Old Navy/Hobby Lobby shopping center.

I'm pretty sure that nothing in that shopping center is open at 1 a.m.

These kids didn't deserve to kid assaulted, but they could have prevented it themselves.

Just like the ladies that got there purses stolen from their UNLOCKED car, this was a preventable crime.

If found guilty just kill the guy, I have no room for rapist or sexual deviants.

I pay about 17 cents for each bullet I fire from my gun, if convicted, that's what this guys life is worth to me. Hell, I'll foot the bill.

I am not trying to take up for anyone who would in anyway harm a child, having grandchildren of my own,but remember this individual has just been charged, but has not been convicted of anything. Before you draw the kind of conclusions that you are posting wait until sentences are passed, and then I`ll join you in the way you now think.

A 32 yr. old man is hanging out with kids in Old Navy parking lot ( a known hang out spot for teens on weekend nights). Sounds like a sexual predator to me. He probably hangs around video arcades and playgrounds too.

The 4100 block also includes Skateland and the Bowling Alley. Doesn't the bowling alley have an all-night bowling thing going on during the weekend? I know they used to on Friday and Saturday nights, and it was always billed as safe and responsible thing to let your children do. Perhaps that is why they were out at 1 Am.

Posted by lynfo25 on May 7, 2008 at 11:35 a.m.

You can't always blame the parents. Did any of you not ever sneak out when you were a teen? I know I did and a lot of the time I never got caught.

Posted by clemson_girl on May 7, 2008 at 11:58 a.m.

I agree these kids didn't deserve to be molested but I also agree, what in the world were they doing out at 1 am?

lynfo: NOOO I never snuck out. I knew better than to, my parents would have given me one heck of an old fashioned butt whipping.

Posted by lrm3167 on May 7, 2008 at 4:09 p.m.

Kids do sneak out even if they know they will get a butt whipping, grounded or whatever. As much as we would like to, we can't keep our eyes on our kids 24/7. I know I would be asleep at 1am and presume my kids were upstairs sleeping too. They sure did not deserve what happened, but I wouldn't be so quick to blame the parents. Hopefully, other kids will read this and think twice about being out at that time in the morning and in places they shouldn't be.

clemson_girl..

The fact that you never snuck out says alot about your wacky world view. You're what we call "sheltered."

Please quit applying your standards to everybody else.

Maybe the parents work 3rd shift and trust their teenage sons to return home at a responsible hour on weekend nights? You people enjoy cutting people down so much without ever considering the possible truth.

I got butt whoopings when I got caught. Was hardheaded though and tried not to get caught. My mom eventually caught on to my schemes and that ended my late night romps. But then again that was years ago when things were a lil' safer. My point was maybe the parents didn't know cuz the kids snuck out. Everyone is so quick to blame parents. In reality all kids betray their parents' trust some time or other and it don't even have to be something big. Most of the kids hanging out in that parking lot are just skateboarding. This grown a** man had no business what so ever hanging around youngens'. Don't really matter why they were out so late. Adults know better,,, most kids really don't care about knowing better. He's just a straight out pervert and one less of them on our streets is fine by me.

I was bowling with a group of friends Friday night when this happen. But everyone has the story messed up. I was just two or three lanes from Kevin, and the teenagers. I constantly walked by and noticed them. Each time,I walked by Kevin was mainly up on the top drinking. I never seen Kevin touch those young teenagers. I don't believe the man would ever have time to "lewd act with minor" - because he was always at the top, then he would go bowl. From what I seen; the teenagers nor the family has a case. Another thing is; the story states that this happened at 1 am. From my understanding the man called on the radio to let us know that we had 10 min left. The woman with the kids didn't walk up to the police officer until 2:30 when the bowling was over. Far as I know; it seems like they had to get "a story " before going up to the police officer. I overheard the police officer talking to the man and the woman while I was waiting on a ride. The times nor the crime seems fair. I believe its a group of kids trying to put someone in jail.

This may very well be true,,,but,,, you never know. A pervert and or pedophile won't do these acts where they can be seen. And no matter what you should believe a child when these types of accusations are made. Let the adult prove it ain't so. This is one reason kids are scared to tell. You must always believe until it is proven to be false. What would've happened if the mom didn't believe and therefore didn't tell cops? This man could've gone on to do far worse. Me? I would have probably been in jail cuz the whole place would have heard me when I confronted him. I surely wouldn't have took the time to talk to a cop if I had been there and my kid came up and told me some grown man was touching him in such a way. I'd been like what the he** is your deal man and then heaven help him. And why would these teenagers want to "just put him in jail"? He had to have done something. Most kids don't go to a bowling alley and in the middle of having fun pick a drunk out and decide to say something like that just to have him put in jail. There are dozens of other things they could have done to him just for the heck of it. Accusations of molestation should always be taken seriously.

Posted by carolinagurl86 on May 8, 2008 at 7:36 a.m.

If the parent didn't believe the children then why still go up to police officer? The people dont live in anderson or anywhere near. It's just a joke to them. And a case like this just be taken seriously. Its wrong. The man never touched them. I believe people bowling near them; should come out and say something. It should be taken seriously but not this one. He didnt have time; plus the times arent matching up.

Well... the paper has been known for getting things such as "times" messed up and can you honestly know 100 percent that he did not do this? If so then my next question is, Did you give a statement to that fact? If not then why? He will have his day in court and I am sure you and others who can testify that he didn't do it can tell the court. He'll have proper justice I am sure and if found not guilty well then he'll have a case against the people for ruining his name. Until then I will opt to keep my kids away from any man with the name Kevin Lollis. After an accusation like this would you be willing to leave your child alone with him? Can you honestly believe he didn't do it enough to trust him with your own child?

Posted by The_Sundance_Kid on May 8, 2008 at 11:56 a.m.

If the allegations turn out to be false, I really hope the kids are punished very hard.

Personally, I just hope the truth somehow floats to the top and what comes around goes around...either way.

andrewhammett:

How does not sneaking out make me sheltered? and have a wacky world view? And how am I applying any standards to anyone?
