PENDLETON, SC - Helen Leigh McAlister and Justin Tate Blakey were married May 10, 2008 at Canon Chapel, Clemson Outdoor Lab in Pendleton with Carol D. Poore, aunt of the bride, officiating. A reception followed at the Canon Chapel Pavilion. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Calvin McAlister of Anderson, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Louise M. McAlister and the late Calvin C. McAlister of Anderson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Haskell Poore of Anderson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Anthony Blakey of Anderson. He is the grandson of Mrs. Mildred C. Wiggins and the late Robert B. Wiggins of Charleston, SC and Mrs. Thelma B. Blakey and the late Ernest C. Blakey of Winder, GA. Maid of Honor was Melissa Lust of Anderson, friend of the bride. Matron of Honor was Pamela Simon of Central, SC, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Murdock of Candler, NC, Tanya Hall of Anderson, Somer Norman of Kingsport, TN, and Bethany Perry of Marshville, NC, niece of the bride. Best Man was Mark Anthony Blakey, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Drake Myers of Anderson, Eric Cheek of Anderson, Nathan Brock of Wesser, NC, Jon Keen of Kingsport, TN, and William Perry of Marshville, NC, nephew of the bride. Flower Girls were Ashlyn Styles and Cady Styles of Pelzer, SC, nieces of the bride. The bride is a 2001 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and a 2004 graduate of Tri-County Tech. She is a Nurse at Ellenburg Nursing Home. The groom is a 1998 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and a 2003 graduate of Anderson University. He is employed with A One ATM. After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Anderson.
