STORY TOOLS

We here at Be were just discussing the other day how Downtown Sounds needs to incorporate more beach, boogie and blues into the mix of artists. Also, we felt this music should be particularly hot, almost like it’s on fire. Wouldn’t you know it? The Blisterin’ Hot Beach Boogie and Blues Band will perform tonight.

You’ve read our minds, Downtown Sounds.

As the name implies, the BHBBBB plays a variety of music. The band specializes in all types of dance music, but also can play beach music, classic rock, R&B and, of course, blues. The band also is known to play a random disco tune from time to time.

Amanda DeSisto, entertainment services coordinator for Main Street Events, said the BHBBBB is a perfect fit for Downtown Sounds. She said the band has done several shows for Main Street Events, mainly in Greenville.

“People in Anderson love to dance,” DeSisto said. “It only makes sense that we get one of the best dance bands around. I think people are going to love this band’s variety of dance music.”

DeSisto said the BHBBBB plays several events, from weddings and small events to larger events such as Downtown Sounds. She said when the band plays festivals, it becomes a more casual version of their wedding act, which means the band is allowed to cut loose and have much more fun with the crowd.

“It should be a performance to remember,” DeSisto said. “But you’re only going to have fun if you dance, so make sure to bring a partner.”
