First Church of Christ, Scientist, Seneca-Clemson, will sponsor a free lecture on Christian Science at 11 a.m. on May 24, at the Christian Science Reading Room, 327 Main St., Seneca.
Suzanne Riedel, a practitioner of Christian Science healing from Highlands Ranch, Colo., will present a talk titled, “The Basis of Christian Science and How It Heals.”
Riedel was introduced to Christian Science in college. After being immediately healed in an emergency, she found a closeness to God she had been searching for, which radically altered her view of spiritual possibilities. She has relied on Christian Science to heal everything from broken bones to contagious diseases throughout 20 years of secondary school teaching and raising five children.
A graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, Riedel has been published on www.spirituality.com and in the Christian Science Sentinel and Herald of Christian Science.
She has toured internationally as a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship. In her talk she will share how understanding the nature of God and practical, effective prayer open the door to fuller, inspired living.
For more information, call the Christian Science Reading Room at (864) 882-6227.
