Anderson cops investigate forcible rape

STORY TOOLS

— Anderson police said a 29-year-old woman was forcibly raped at gunpoint about 10:45 p.m. Thursday in the kitchen of her Belton Woods apartment.

Randall Williams, spokesman for the city police, said Friday that no arrests have been made.

“It's still under investigation,” he said. “We were given a name, but until we get a positive identification, the man would not be arrested.”

The alleged victim told police that the 22-year-old man attacked her after she heard a knock at her back door, according to the incident report.

“Thinking it was her sister, she opened the door” and was confronted by an armed man demanding money, Officer Jada Burgin said in her report.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh correct me if I am wrong, but isn't most rape FORCED on the person?

It's to differentiate between statutory rape (in which as person is either incapacitated or legally incapable of granting consent through age or mental disability)and other forms of rape. There is a difference in the charges as defined by law.
