ANDERSON COUNTY A 24-year-old Anderson woman pleaded guilty to shoplifting Friday, receiving a $1,087.50 fine and an order to repay Wal-Mart for a $4.96 package of pacifiers.
Wal-Mart employee Ciera Alexander testified in Anderson Municipal Court that Amanda Mitchell of 3809 Whitehall Road opened the pacifiers about noon Thursday at the Liberty Highway store, gave one to her child and then concealed shorts and nightgowns in the child's stroller.
Officials recovered the clothing, but requested payment for the pacifiers since the child had one in its mouth, Alexander said.
