Rescue teams from Anderson County to teach water safety

— Emergency response agencies from throughout Anderson County are planning to team up for a boating safety training day on Hartwell Lake.

The public and participants will be able to gather on Saturday at the overflow parking lot at the Portman Marina at 1629 Marina Road in Anderson between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to a news release.

Instructors will conduct classes for the public regarding general boating safety; first aid; proper life jacket sizing and fitting; self-rescue tips; and how to work with responding personnel during a water emergency.
