— Four Anderson residents, including a 65-year-old man, face lynching charges after rushing into rental property and confronting three people, including one with the legal right to be there.

Charles Harward, 65, of 113 Jones St., James Kinley, 26, of 303 Hunter St., Larry Kinley, 20, of 205 Maria Dr. and Lisa Sarls, 44, of 205 Maria Dr. were arrested Saturday and each ordered held in lieu of $20,000 bonds at the Anderson County Detention Center.

The men were released on Saturday, but Sarls, who also faces a breach of peace charge, remained in custody as of Monday afternoon.

Anderson County sheriff’s deputies said the four are accused of assaulting two men and a woman, who were playing video games about 2 a.m. Saturday at 109 Hunter Street.

Paula Patton, 47, of 108 Hunter St. suffered a laceration to her arm. Jason Patton, 19, of the same address suffered a swollen eye. Ronnie Landreth, 22, of 109 Hunter St. was not injured.

According to the police report, Larry Kinley told deputies that a cousin, who was out of town occupied his mother’s rental property at 109 Hunter St..

James Kinley, who lives on Hunter Street, alerted his family to someone inside the reportedly empty trailer.

Harward, Larry Kinley, James Kinley and their mother, Lisa Sarls, agreed to meet at the trailer, entering an open door and fighting with the people inside, who attempted a “house arrest” on the owner, her sons and the 65-year-old man, according to Deputy J. M. Collins’ report.
