Supporting Bryant for Senate

STORY TOOLS

In response to the letter to the editor headlined “Meadors has already proven himself,” I would have thought that the writer would have stated somewhere in her letter that she works for Marshall Meadors. Knowing this might have changed the way people perceived the content of the letter.

The comment, “We need a voice of someone who believes in public education, not someone who home-schools his/her children” implies that if your children are not in the public education system you do not believe in the public education system.

Most would agree there are many problems with the current public school system. Kevin Bryant has chosen to home-school his children. Marshall Meadors does not have children, so we do not know how he would have chosen to educate them.

Also, regarding the statement concerning health care knowledge, Kevin Bryant is a pharmacist while Marshall Meadors is a physician.

Both men are well aware of the problems with the current health care system.

Additionally, the growing number of uninsured people is probably more of an immigration problem than a lack of healthcare knowledge or experience.

I hope that those of you who take politics seriously try to get unbiased information and vote for the man who has already proven himself as an effective politician.

Lastly, I am not employed by either candidate.

Wade Pitts, Anderson

I should think that if a person works for someone then they have an opportunity to get to know that person first hand. Are you saying in this article that just because she works for him her opinion should be disregarded? What about all the people who see Dr Meadors as a patient are they meant to disregard their opinion of him just because he treats them as their physician? The same can be said of those who do business with Kevin Bryant's pharmacy. How better to know what a person is like than to hear comments from those who are closest to him. I think the record of both men stands for itself and people will vote based on what that person has done to represent their values and ideas to the government they live under.

Thanks, herenow, for putting things into perspective for Mr. Pitts. Not only do I work with Marshall, I send 10-20 folks to Bryants each week for their equipment, etc. Business is Business. What I do at work does not effect the way I vote. I vote for who I feel would best represent me and my District. Herenow, you could not have said it better!

It's impossible to get unbiased information.

Meadors = Tax-and-Spend liberal
