In response to the writer who said not to vote for Marshall Meadors and that Democrats love to tax, lately Democrats have shown more responsible leadership than many Republicans. It’s responsible to use our tax money to make our government solvent and to make it work effectively.
For too long our leaders have looked at the short term rather than the long term. Marshall Meadors would be an intelligent leader who would make responsible decisions.
I think Democrats deserve a chance to lead.

They have always had a chance, but this year, if the democrats can't win, they should all go home and become aluminum siding salesmen.
Meadors is openly campaigning on raising taxes. He asked at the debate why wouldn't anybody want to raise taxes to pay for government-run healthcare. He wants Hillary-care in South Carolina.
If you don't want any new taxes, Vote Bryant.
Where have you been?! The country is tanking because of the Democrats...
No drilling offshore...Democratic Party
No attention to terrorism...Clinton
Give anyone who wants a house their way even if they can't afford it...Clinton, Frank, Dobbs
Most of the problems we face today have roots in liberal policies applied by Democrats in power.

You're right, but have the Republicans taken advantage of that or for that matter, does anybody even care that the two parties have no real agenda other than to try and win the next election. Neither of them are for you or I, they all are only for themselves.
in response to Laughing_Out_Loud
I'm not sure where you have been.
1) Democrats just allowed the drilling moratorium to expire. Republicans wouldn't let the Democrats pass their alternative energy plan without their one idea, which was to drill.
2) The Democrats just recently took control of Congress (Jan. 2007). We have had a Republican President and Congress in the years leading up to the housing crisis.
By the way, I think you mean Dodd when you say Dobbs.
I gave them a chance two years ago. They screwed me ! Here is what I plan on doing. I will vote against every incumbent. If the person has no opposition.......no vote !
THIS GRAPHIC JUST PROVES WHAT CHARLES BARKLEY SAID IS TRUE!!!! HE SAID, AND I QUOTE, ""Poor People have been voting for Democrats for the last 50 years and they are still poor."
APPARENTLY THERE IS A LOT OF THE "YELLOW DOG DEMOCRAT" WORKING HERE!!! I WONDER IF THEY WILL EVER GET IT?????
What do these top ten cities with the highest poverty rate all have in common?
Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since - 1961;
Buffalo, NY (2nd on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1954;
Cincinnati, OH (3rd on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1984;
Cleveland, OH (4th on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1989;
Miami, FL (5th on the poverty rate list) has never had a Republican mayor;
St. Louis, MO (6th on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1949;
El Paso, TX (7th on the poverty rate list) has never had a Republican mayor;
Milwaukee, WI (8th on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1908;
Philadephia, PA (9th on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1952;
Newark, NJ (10th on the poverty rate list) hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1907.
Einstein once said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
Yeah, let's give them a chance to make us like their stronghold areas. NOT!!!

alright! Another Barkley fan. Perhaps you're aware of his more recent leanings? And I quote, from 2006:
"I was a Republican until they lost their minds, "The word 'conservative' means 'discriminatory,' practically. It's a form of political discrimination. What do the Republicans run on? Against gay marriage and for a war that makes no sense. A war that was based on faulty intelligence. That's all they ever talk about. That and immigration. Another discriminatory argument for political gain."
'Bout sums things up for me...
As for the list of cities...it's a bit of statistical cherry-picking. Seven of the ten are rust-belt towns, whose work forces couldn't exactly get up and move to Asia and Latin America with their traditional industries, could they? Presto - poor people. And what exactly would a Republican MAYOR have done about relocating industry, that a Democrat mayor did not do?
As for Miami? El Paso? Higher than average immigrant populations contribute to their poverty levels (yes, this plays to the anti-immigration crowd - please see Sir Chuck's comment above). Otherwise, surely the prosperity of these red-leaning states would surely have trickled down to these cities by now, hmm?
Maybe you'll be encouraged that at one time, back when I used to listen to Limbaugh, read the National Review, and thought Rudy Guliani was a decent person; that I "got it."
But I don't got it no more.

Keeping Einstein's quote in mind, I'll not repeat the mistakes of voting for more of the same of these last 8 years. The wind says there are plenty of folks who are thinking the same thing as I.
NO!
Then don't give them a chance. Besides, maintaining status quo has been working so well.
