Job well done on Fox forum

STORY TOOLS

The Presidential Candidate Forum on the Fox News Channel, was nothing less than monumental. I felt as though I had stepped back in history to the time of our nation’s founding fathers.

I had heard that Rick Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church, in California and author of the best selling book, “The Purpose-Driven Life,” had arranged for coverage of an event unparalleled in the media today. How this program was put together and aired on national television had to have been orchestrated by God.

Warren preempted the airing by describing the effort as a way to circumvent confusion, which was troubling the American public, through advertising, speeches, debates, etc. associated with the up and coming president election.

The smooth, orderly and clear-cut manner in which the forum was conducted provided a down-to-earth opportunity for the two candidates, McCain and Obama, to speak out on subjects concerning all Americans and the world at large.

I herewith, publicly, congratulate all concerned for a job well done.

Roberta Basham, Anderson

I agree completely. It was one of the best political forums that I have ever seen. The format was far better than the typical soundbyte-laden gabfests that pass for debates nowadays. The questions were very good as well. I hope the media was paying attention, and it will be a format that we will see in future elections.
