‘Value-added’ resident busted at Anderson motel

STORY TOOLS

— An 18-year-old Anderson man is facing drug charges after he asked a 20-year-old woman if she had any interest in smoking marijuana.

When rebuffed, the man persisted, asking the woman “if she was interested in buying marijuana and further stated that if she did purchase any, he would give her ‘something extra,’” Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Proner said in his report.

Alerted by the woman, deputies confronted Steven Lee Shaw about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in his room at the Extended Lodge Hotel on Extended Lane in Anderson.

Deputies confiscated 30 grams of marijuana, a set of digital scales and plastic bags, according to the incident report.

Shaw is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
