As it wraps up the preseason, T.L. Hanna football is going on the road — and on television — to play its final scrimmage.
The Yellow Jackets will travel to Union Grove High School, south of Atlanta, on Saturday to play Jackson High School, which is located between Atlanta and Macon.
Hanna will scrimmage Jackson at 5 p.m, and Union Grove will play Vigor High School from Alabama at 7 p.m. Both scrimmages will be televised live on CSS. The event is called the Cast-Sports Border Wars Football Classic.
Hanna coach Kenya Fouch said organizers called him because of James “Radio” Robert Kennedy, and Clemson commits Jake Nicolopulos and Martavis Bryant.
“We’ve seen the movie Radio,” Fouch recalled the phone call invitation as saying. “So we know you guys got a great fan base, we know you guys got some real good recruits. Come be a part of it.”
The best part for Hanna? It’s free. Organizers are paying for travel, food, and hotel, Fouch said.
“We had been looking for a trip we could take, and get ready for the Westside game, and try to get an atmosphere,” Fouch said. “This will give us a chance to do this, for free.”
Hanna’s opponent boasts defensive end Neiron Ball, 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, who is committed to Florida after receiving at least 16 offers, including offers from Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia.
“And (they’ve) got one on the other side that looks almost just like him,” Fouch said. “Very fast defensively, real good athletes.”

After getting pretty much hammered by little ol' Crescent High School this past Saturday night at the Anderson County Jamboree, Hanna better step up their level of play for this Georgia team. If not, it could get ugly for Hanna this weekend in Georgia.

To ashleycooper:
Most of Hanna's varsity were sitting in the stands. Other than a handful of varsity players, they were playing mostly B team. They did not want to get anyone injured before the Westside game, nor give Westside any indication of what they would be doing next Friday night.

A lot of you would like to see Hanna have a losing season. You are all in for a rude awakening. TL has a lot of talent that hasn't been seen yet.
