WALHALLA, SC Timken Foundation of Canton has awarded Walhalla Elementary School a $17,110 grant.
Several Timken officials recently notified Principal Steve Hanvey that his school would start the 2009-2010 school year with an opportunity to meet some needs for technology.
The grant will be used to purchase SmartBoards with wireless connections for 8 to 10 classrooms and Tangrams for each homeroom. Tangrams are manipulatives used in math classes that promote problem solving through open-ended exploration.
