ANDERSON A 42-year-old Anderson man who stopped at the washerette portion of an Anderson car wash was shot Sunday night during what police said was an attempted robbery.
The victim and his wife were with their child at Soapy’s Car Wash near 1228 Southwood St. about 7:40 p.m. when a man wearing a mask approached them. The masked man told the couple to give him their money, but the man said they did not have any, authorities said.
The masked man shot the victim once before fleeing the scene, according to Lt. Wayne Cunningham of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was shot in the chest, according to authorities.
The victim and his wife ran to a nearby home with their child, where the victim’s wife called 911, according to Cunningham. The woman and child were not injured.
Soapy’s has both a car wash and a laundromat at the location. The laundromat was where the shooting took place, authorities said.
The victim was transported to AnMed Health Medical Center. His condition was not available late Sunday.
Names of the couple were not released. The shooter was at large late Sunday, authorities said.

Things like this happen in all neighborhoods Werewolf. I don't see you making comments about the neighborhood when the crimes happen on the other side of town.

Crime like this will follow into nice neighborhoods. Its easier for them to target people in nicer places, People in rich or up scale places don't think it will happen, I'm one of those people. It didn't take long for some idiot to walk up a 150" ft driveway to ramble through my car, with my wife and kids in the house. Usually she opens the door when i arrive home, but she did not that night. If she would have, it could have been a disaster. Thank goodness she knows how to use a pistol and can easily get to it. It don't always help, but I advise anyone to have 3-4 infrared cameras put up around your home. This was my alternative. At least if the police can't get there in time, I may have a couple of nice shots for them to look at.

DRUGS,DRUGS and more Drugs. The police are afraid of doing their job becaues of all the B.S. they have to deal with each and every incident. Well, maybe a beer will solve the problem. The President of the U.S. made a photo-op, and it worked. Well, it looked good for the Media and to the rest of us.
