Pelzer recently received a $334,100 water and waste disposal grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development division.
The money is being used to help fix the town’s sewer system. The sewers of about 560 houses and a dozen businesses will be improved.
The total cost of the project is $2.6 million, with the rest of the money being provided by rural development loans and grants and a grant from the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
