Great Southeast BalloonFest third day (Celebrate Anderson)

The Great Southeast Balloon Festival continued its activities on Sunday including Celebrate Anderson on Sunday evening. Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium performed music from the movie Star Wars as well as other patriotic songs. The show included a laser show and fireworks.

The great southeast BalloonFest competition finished Monday near the Civic Center of Anderson. Competitors threw ribbon markers as close as they could to a pole on the original launch field, after launching from another area.

The great southeast BalloonFest continued with the third of four days, with a Hooter's hot wing eating contest, music, food, and the Celebrate Anderson! concert with fireworks at the end.
Saturday BalloonFest activity

A variety of activity scattered the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Complex during all day Saturday for the great southeast BalloonFest. From hot air balloons in the morning to a Morris Day and the Time concert at the William A. Floyd Amphitheater at night, crowds covered the grounds. Steppin' Out Dancer gave a two-hour show at noon.

Friday morning August 31 started the great southeast BalloonFest in Anderson. Spectators lined the roads to watch 18 of the 75 hot-air balloons ride from the launching field near the Civic Center of Anderson toward Hartwell Lake.
