Man fined for domestic violence in Anderson

Struck woman five times in face; hit another in the eye, testimony shows

— Fines of about $5,300 were levied Monday against a 37-year-old Anderson man after he admitted to beating his wife on two occasions and breaking the wrist of her friend on another.

Edward Tucker of White Street pleaded no contest in Anderson Municipal Court to assault and battery plus two counts of criminal domestic violence. According to court testimony, domestic violence between Tucker and Shannon Tucker, 39, was reported on July 3 at the Tucker’s home on White Street and on Sept. 18 at a Buena Vista Avenue home that Shannon Tucker had moved into.

In the first incident, the Tuckers were in a car driven by Ulrica Putnam, 40, of Anderson when an argument erupted between the Tuckers about 1:30 a.m. July 3, according to the incident report.

Monday, Officer Christine Cauthen testified that Edward Tucker struck Shannon Tucker about five times in her face before getting out of the car at their White Street house. Once outside the vehicle, Edward Tucker hit Putnam in her eye, causing it to swell shut and her to fall and break her wrist, according to testimony.

A restitution hearing for her medical expenses is scheduled for Wednesday.

Sounds like she needs to bust a cap in his *ss!

in response to lrm3167

Hard to believe ,isn't it? He'll be beating her again in no time.

and the sad thing is,,,,she will go back to him and let him beat her again!!!!!!

A FINE??!!!?? What kind of garbage is this? The stupid judge should be locked up for this bullcrap sentence!

The judge probably beats his wife, too; otherwise, he'd be treating this as the serious crime it is. He needs to be recalled.

I hope someone who cares about this woman will point her in the direction of some good counseling that will teach her to love herself and not let anyone treat her with that kind of disrespect. To the guy...well, its ppl like this that make us strong women want to show you the barrell end of our .45! Bet you wouldn't draw a fist to me, tough guy! I beg the judge to let me have 5 minutes with you in a cage! You would be a changed man! What do you say, judge? Grant me a fight with him????

Check the dates. Has he been in jail since Sept.18th or was he released? If he was in ACDC
then he could have gotten out with time served.
My X got 30 days for CDV. By the time he went to court for the hearing, the result was "time served".
Go to the third floor at the courthouse sometime and watch the procedings. You will really be amazed then.
This is what happens from an overcrowded jail. Many plea bargins are offered and taken for a lesser sentence. The penality for CDV does get worse after the third time.
There is always a rainbow after a storm !
