An Anderson County Sheriff's deputy and sheriff's Detective Andy Tribble wait for a search warrant Friday before entering the shattered entrance to a home on Corning Street. A man's body was inside the house.

— Two bullets have been recovered from the body of a 25-year-old Anderson man who was killed on Friday, according to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore.

Shore said Sunday's autopsy indicated that Lahani Glover of Crystal Lane was shot in the chest and the back. The bullet to Glover's chest cut his spinal cord, resulting in paralysis and the bullet to his back cut through his heart and a lung, causing death, Shore said.

The sequence of the injuries to Glover was not immediately known.

A second victim of the shooting on Corning Street in the Homeland Park area was initially reported as being in surgery at AnMed Health Medical Center, but he was actually treated for wounds to his hand and buttocks and released, Shore said.

When first responders reached the home on Corning Street, Glover was inside a glass front door, which was shattered, and the other man was on the front lawn, Shore said.

A crowd grew in size and became agitated as officials waited until a search warrant could be obtained before entering the house. First responders had already determined that Glover was dead, Shore said.

“Shots took place inside the house and were fired from outside into the dwelling,” he said.

Friday, Susann Griffin, spokeswoman for the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, said Glover had an arrest history including offenses for drugs and gang activity.

According to records at the Anderson County Clerk of Court's Office, Glover was awaiting trial for alleged drug offenses in Aug. 2007.

In February, Anderson police arrested Glover and charged him with the distribution of crack cocaine, conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and the distribution of crack cocaine within the vicinity of a park or school.

On Monday, the charges facing Glover were dismissed but remain against two co-defendants, records show.

Griffin said on Monday that witnesses are being interviewed, but additional details are not available and no arrests have been made.

Friday, dispatchers issued alerts for two vehicles that left the scene with four people in each car, and deputies performed a gunshot residue examination on at least one man detained at the scene. It is not known if the man is considered a suspect.

why is it that when someone is shot and killed, the county does an autopsy to determine the cause of death.duh, mulitple gunshot wounds, that should be a clue there.who pays for these autopsies anyway, cause they are not cheap.

The reason why an autopsy is performed is to make sure the cause of death was a gunshot wound, you can't just assume that a gunshot is a cause of death. I deal with funeral homes and coroners on a daily basis and in this business you can't just assume, you could lose alot of money and have alot of lawsuits.

EXCELLENT QUESTION!!

the victim had convictions for armed robbery, drug distribution, possesion of stolen goods, possesion of a firearm & was awaiting trial for drug distribution at the time of his death.

sounds like a drug deal gone bad.another scum bag bites the dust.maybe this is a way to get rid of all the drug dealers and gang members, just let them fight among themselves
