ANDERSON COUNTY Ken Lindsey won the Anderson School District 4 trustee seat with only 10 votes Tuesday, beating out “None,” “Tim Busha,” “Sarah Drawdy” and “Mickey Mouse.”
And with 39 votes, Mary Sanders won a seat on the Homeland Park Water and Sewer District One commission, beating out “Joe the Plumber,” “Yo Momma” and “Nobody.”
According to unofficial results released by Katy Smith, director of Anderson County Elections and Voter Registration, Lindsey was the top vote-getter among a field of 54 written in candidates, while Sanders was the top vote-getter among 36 candidates.
Lindsey will fill the seat left vacant by Anderson County District 4 Board of Trustees Chairman Tom Dobbins after his unsuccessful run for state senate against Don Bowen, R-Anderson.
In the race for Homeland Park Water and Sewer District One Commission, two seats were to be filled, but only one person ran for the office. Sanders beat the next highest write-in candidate, Ken Swilling, by 31 votes.
Once an unofficial listing of write-in candidates is generated, Smith said, the board of elections confirms that the candidate is eligible for the seat and informs the candidate of their new position.
Both Lindsey and Sanders have been notified, she said.
The Anderson Independent-Mail has requested a list of all the write-in candidates for other seats in the general election. Smith said the list would have to be hand generated and would be provided as quickly as possible.

How did she beat Yo Momma? I thought anyone would vote for Yo Momma!
I hope I don't have to hear about Joe The Plumber, being a maverick, and Joe Sixpack anymore.
These intellects take voting serious.
Only in Homeland Park. Geez, grow up, at least write in a real name...yo momma??? And they wonder down there why the get a bad rap??

Maybe we can just hear more about partial birth abortion, taking our guns and government insurance. Remember everyone, if we do get government insurance, your medical care is paid if you qualify. The pampering and food etc. you get in the hospital will not be paid so someone in your family can bring in food etc.
I wrote in Mickey Mouse for quite a few offices, kind of bummed that he didn't win ANY office.
I would never vote for Yo Momma! We just don't agree on so many issues....
