No excuse for comments

STORY TOOLS

There is no excuse for the comments the reporter made in the BE article “Scare up something to wear” on Oct. 30. The comments I am referring to are the ones about John McCain, “hot” women, and Sarah Palin.

John McCain spent five years in the “Hanoi Hilton” and was tortured over and over. His arms were broken several times and that is why he can not use them well or lift them high. Making fun of that crippling feature of Senator McCain was unacceptable.

The remarks about “hot” women were sexist and if he talked that way in most work arenas he could be sued for sexual harassment.

The remarks about Sarah Palin were lame too, but at least they were not as bad, although the undertones leads one to believe that he is prejudiced against her.
