We could save the county and the tax payers millions if they would just close down our road at the request of the people who live on the road.
The new bridge they plan to build wouldn't have to be built saving over a million dollars and the residence would keep the road up. The county would not have to pave, mow, or pick up trash.
We asked the county for this closure, they denied.
And now the county wants to raise taxes!!!!!!!!

To cwilson4 --No, they wouldn't give a reason other than a lot of people use this road as a cut through to other major roads. There are several other roads nearby that could be used just as well.
They actually looked at us like we were Nuts to make such a suggestion but it makes perfect sense to us. Our road would be quiet and well maintanted by us and best of all, the Anderson County taxpayers wouldn't have to foot the Huge New Bridge bill or road maintenance cost.

We have a bridge on our road (a county road)that has been scheduled to be replaced in the near future. All of the residence living on this road have asked if the county could just close the road and we would maintain it. The county would Not have to replace the bridge, pave the road, mow the grass or pick up trash. The home owners on this road would maintain the pavement, mow the grass and keep it clean. This would save the taxpayers and the county MILLIONS! Of course they said No!!!!!!!!
Anyone out there have any ideas on how to get our road closed?

You are so right Marian.
I was visiting the Anderson Animal Shelter the other day and was amazed at the Great Number of puppies and kittens.
You would think, at this day and time, (with low cost spay and neuter clinics ) that people would get their animals fixed. All these offsprings are the ones that suffer if not adopted by some kind soul like you.
Please everyone, spay and neuter your pets. It make you a more responsible pet owner and makes your pet a healthier and happier animal.

JP is not elected. He was hired by the Anderson County. His postion used to be an elected one but for some reason Someone changed that and now Someone hires the Anderson County Administrator! I'd like to know who Someones is?

The Anderson County Administrator position (in the past ) was a elected position. Maybe it should be that way again so the citizens of Anderson County could elect an Administrator that they choose instead of one being hired by a small group of individuals (I don't know who they are!)

I CAN SAVE THE COUNTY MILLIONS--stop the bridge construction on COX ROAD and just CLOSE COX ROAD. The residence of that road would Welcome the CLOSING OF COX ROAD.
