The parade was awesome! people strectched all through the downtown from Tribble to city hall. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, both participants and spectators alike. I was proud to see Anderson come together and support this event.

Ah , I see, so we should show you how this whole "reporter" thing work? Might I suggest you look at some of the entertainment papers from surrounding areas and simply follow there leads.
Try not to soft-peddle everything you review. If one was to believe what is written, one would think that EVERY eatery in Anderson was serving the best food ever consumed, and served by none better, and I'm pretty sure we can all agree that that is not a reality. As a reviewer of venues, you need to be honest, if the quality is less than it should be, dont say it is. Just give the name and base info if you are afraid of alienation.

On Ramble On: New name, new look and a new feel for Upstate Be

The name "Be" was dumb to start with. And this "change" does not improve it at all. What does it mean? Sounds like some sort of BS zen philosophy. "One should just "Be"....". I think it shows a lack of creativity on the part of the publisher which the same could be said about the magazine itself.

I tried taking to them once, but they kept having to run off to the air pump for a refill. BTW not a good ole Southern Babtist, just a realist. But you seem really well versed in their habits and lifestyles... And to that I say good for you and keep those tips coming, I'm sure one of them will eventually take the bait.

Is this supposed to be a good thing? I've always been under the impression that "Hooters girls" were either strippers on their way up or strippers on their way down. And having been to the local Hooters, the way those girls act makes me believe the prior statement even more. Not that there is anything wrong with that!

Once again the AIM nasties have reared their heads to beat down yet another good thing. I'm sad that your parents never taught you that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing!
First of all, peolpe eat ice cream all year, you may ne
ver have attended a birthday party or other special event in your miserable lives but lots of other people do, and they frequent places like this when they do.
Plus the fact that it is next to Arnolds, which has quite the following in it's own right, should keep folks coming in for a tasty treat after their burger.
All you nay-sayers out there should lighten up a little. In fact you should have some ice cream! It will make you feel better!

What is wrong with you people in this community? Must you complain and nay say about everything?
Might I suggest any one of you run into a burning building and see what its like to risk your life for VERY modest pay. You might want to appreciate that maybe one day that camera could potentially save your miserable life.

There is a happy median between where Anderson is now and where Greenville is on the development scale, and that is where we need to be focusing. We will never be as big as G'ville, we do not have there population in size or demographic. But there is plenty of room for improvement w/o getting anywhere near them.

On On Tap: Why not be more like Greenville when it comes to downtown Anderson?

I have lived in Anderson for about a year now, and quite frankly this seems to me to be more the norm than the exception. Being from the west coast where people tend to keep to themselves and anti social behavior was more than common I was expecting some of that "Southern Hospitality" I had heard so much about. But I now see that there is more myth to that statement than reality. Maybe it's because the majority of people here are senior citizens or quickly approaching it, and they just dont like change or anything new. Not sure, but reading the comments left on articles here pretty much proves my point.

Is there even the most remote of chances that next season there maybe bands that play ANY music from the last 20 years? All of the present talent booked caters to the over 50 set, not that there is anything wrong with those tunes, but the under 50 "youngsters" would REALLY like a reason to show up at these shows. I'm not talking about a full blown rock concert or a "Hip Hop" thug-fest, but something we 30-something, working class folk can relate to.
