PYT, we're out here. The few on here do not represent all of the citizens of Anderson, nor do these few posters represent all of the white citizens of Anderson. BTW, I'm not leaving this town. I'm in this for the long haul, and I've decided today that being silent will just make people think I agree. I don't agree. This is hateful, racist language, and it makes me very sad. There will be at least one more person at the next peaceful protest. Just remember that we are here, PYT.

Is anyone concerned with the assessment on your property that was sent out recently? Is anyone concerned with anything in this town besides Joey Preston, our council included?

Wow. This country is in trouble. Men marrying men and abortion are issues that involve moral beliefs. You can't legislate your moral beliefs. You are free to voice those and use them as your voting criteria, but you are not free to make everyone else believe as you do. What happened to taking care of each other for the betterment of society?

Could you please provide the source for the $11,000 per student figure? I've looked for this, but have been unable to find it. I've heard Senator Bryant quote the figure twice, but I have not seen a source yet. I'll check out his web site and see if he's provided one yet.

If Bryant supporters that showed up at tri-county that night are any indication of what he stands for, then no thanks. Not all, but most of them acted like angry children. They pitched fits and asked questions that didn't even pertain to a state senator's job.

What qualifications does he not meet? I haven't heard anything about this, and I would really like some more information on Mr. Gough. Thanks.

I attended this event, and it was my understanding that it was not a debate. It was a town hall event. I was pleased to see so many in attendance, especially students. Senator Bryant supporters could have taken some cues from the students about behavior. Several of them were out of line and did not really have questions to ask. Overall, I thought the event was a success, and I did get more information about each candidate.

Are there any gas stations that have not done this? If so, could someone post those? I too would like to choose where I spend my hard-earned money on gasoline.

If we would all stop the panic, then the prices would stabilize some. If the gas companies know that we will not only sit in a long line, but also pay over $4.00 a gallon for gas we may or may not need, then they will charge us for it. Expect the prices to stick at around $4.00 a gallon when Ike is over. I feel that this was a way for gas companies to take advantage of the public, yet again. We had gotten used to seeing $3.40 a gallon, now the prices are expected to jump up to $5.00 a gallon by next week. Then, it would seem like "relief" if the prices dropped back to $4.00 a gallon. How much more of this can people take? I'm begging people to not get gas unless you need gas.

I'll be voting a straight Democratic ticket, so you can continue to have these beliefs and voice them.
