I think what we are seeing is a return to what we were probably taught, or at least observed, in our youths:
The automobile as a mode of personal transportation,
not a status symbol.
I swapped out my lustfully sporty Lexus IS300 for a *yawn* Ford Taurus.
Ironically enough, the Taurus is more fuel efficient.
It's also, unfortunately, more in line with my income bracket. hehe.

Yep. When I go to the circus, I pay to watch the dancing bears dance; not hold forth on current events.

Anything any politician says these days is coming from a place of ignorance. Ignorance of how truly isolated and angry the average American is, and ignorance of what in the world they should do about it.
A little bit of leadership would be a nice change.

The bottom line is always the same: unless we can pump out it of our backyards and refine it in our basements, don't expect greedy people to cut us any slack when we are dependent upon it. Whatever "it" is - unleaded, diesel, biofuels, or any other fuel source.
And until they come up with one that runs on Durcells, stay away from the Hummer.

"An ACC Championship Game berth — much less an ACC Championship — is pretty much out of the question.

It’s still possible, just as it’s still possible People Magazine will name me the “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2008..."

hehe. Nice.

Excuse me: It's Ephesians 5:22-24 and 25-26....not Galations!
My bad....

We're saying the same thing in different ways. When it comes to the role of women in the Pulpit, I just flat don't care. Esther was a woman. The debate is a red herring and does more harm than good.
When it comes to the role of a woman in marriage - a bride pledging to help her husband isn't the least bit appalling when BOTH parties truly understand the meaning of the pledge.
What is appalling is when men abuse the whole Galations 5:22-24 thing (Wives submit to your husbands) and utterly neglect the whole Galations 5:25-26 thing. (Men, love your wives with the same level of selfless sacrifice the Lord demonstrated for his Church).
I'd submit to you that when a husband sets the tone for the marriage in terms of being selfless, helpful, compassionate, and forgiving, his wife is not the least bit appalled or threatened by the thought of helping him.

If I had a $4 million buy-out, I wouldn't worry too much about my job security, either.

That west end is going to look pretty foolish when it's half full next season.

I don't care about state of the art facilities, concessions or tailgating.

Bowden's SOLE prupose as a head coach is to win football games. Not recruit. Or build facilities.

He's built a decent program. Now, time to go.
