Oh, spare me. It's always entertaining to watch politicians seize on a lapse of judgment by their opponent and express their "outrage", not that there has been any bad judgment on Bryant's part. Of course Meadors has to throw out the "insensitivity speech" and express how "shocking" this photo is and its negative effect on cultural "progress." LOL. Meadows is trying to capitalize on the attention this has gotten. He's even posted a screen shot on his campaign site. This is all just plain and simple politics.

If you don't like the photograph don't go to Bryant's blog and look at the damn thing. It's that simple. We have become far too sensitive of a society and make issues out of nothing at all. Nobody has the right to not be offended.

Good luck to Mr. Rumsey. Sanford is right. He needs more reformers on his side. The Republican majority in Columbia is full of big government RINOs who don’t care one bit about the small government principles the party claims it stands for.

It’s not a bad bill. The Federal Government needs to lift restrictions on drilling for oil in our own territory. It’s asinine that we are relying on enemy nations to provide us with our energy when we can drill in Alaska and off the Pacific and Gulf coasts. We also need to build more nuclear plants and use the vast resources of coal we have in the northeast.

This bill won’t pass, however. Most of the Democrats and some Republicans are beholden to the extreme environmental lobby. It’s amusing to listen to people blame Bush for gas prices when the fault partially lays in the hands of those currently controlling Congress.

I love the Constitution Party. They and the Libertarians are the cure for what ails American in my opinion, actually getting back to and following our Constitution, which the Feds threw out a hundred years ago. I especially like third party candidacies that are actually viable. According to this article, a Constitution County Council candidate in Greenville County managed to get 39% of the vote last year in a special election. That is astonishing for a third party candidate. These types of candidacies are incredibly difficult to run because of the two party mentality that is ingrained in the minds of almost all Americans. It’s hard to break that cycle because many people look at third party candidates as spoilers for one of the major two party guys running and many voters have that third party fear. “Yeah, I’m not all that happy with the Republican (for example) that is running, but if I spend my vote on this third party guy that might allow the Democrat to win and that would be even worse than this squishy Republican.”

I don’t think American can get back on the right track as long as we continue to give control to the two party monopoly, with which each passing day seems to have less differences between them. The only way the Republicans and Democrats are going to get a wake up call is to start losing to third parties and it’s not impossible either. The most successful third party in the country is the Vermont Progressive Party. They have managed to win six seats in the Vermont State Legislature so that is hope for third party candidates everywhere.

There is nothing wrong with Stewart bringing this to light. We have enough malfeasance in government at every level. The last thing we to do is elect it straight to office. I find it very hard to swallow that Litman didn't know about the warrants or that he owed fines. When you drive around drunk with the open container in your lap and a stolen license plate on your car (I would really like to know about that one!) did he think he was just going to get a $10 parking ticket and be on his way?

I don't know anything about Stewart, but it wouldn't appear that Litman is a viable alternative.
