I agree. My husband and I sold a car to a gentleman a few years back. We drove the car to the man's house and he pulled the cash out of his safe and paid for the car. His exact words were that he trusted his safe more than a bank. As far as the guns he might be a collector. My husband would have that many guns if he could afford to. :)

I agree. When law makers and anti-gun activists realize it is not responsible gun owners who commit crimes, then maybe people will not be as scared to arm themselves. People who commit crimes with guns usually do not legally own those guns anyway. My family legally owns a few guns and I would not hesitate to use one if I felt my life or the life of one of my family members were threatened.

This was an issue when I was in school and I am now 29. I thought banning the rebel flag was a type of discrimination when I was in school simply because people would get sent home for wearing the rebel flag. A lot of blacks would wear the Malcolm X shirts and Martin Luther King shirts and nothing would be said to them. They would say we were just proud of our heritage. Well, the same can be said for the people who wear the Confederate flag. Not all people who wear that flag are racist hicks. Granted some have given the flag a bad name, but there are also some who constantly quote MLK who are prejudiced as well.

I do talk to someone everyday...my husband. He has worked for both administrations as well and is still with the Sheriffs office.
On Anderson man says county deputies used excessive force during routine traffic stop

To everyone complaining about the deputies, if you think you can do their job any better, then please be my guest. Go to the Sheriffs office and put in an application, and we will see how long you last. There is only a few of them and thousands of us. Crenshaw is doing a lot better than the previous administration. That department was a mess when he took over. So many people are eager to be so negative of Crenshaw. If you can do better then by all means run for the office. So many people ignore the great things he has done for the officers and the people of this county. For example, what about the national award the sheriff's office received earlier this year for getting drugs off the street. Guess most people did not feel the need to comment since nothing negative could be said about it. Here is the article, it is on the straight talk forum as well:
ANDERSON COUNTY — The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has been honored for its work in getting drugs off the street.
The Sheriff’s office was named the winner of the 2007 National Interdiction Team of the Year, presented by the National Criminal Enforcement Association in Greensboro, N.C.
Anderson County was recognized for the amount of narcotics and money seized by interdiction teams.
In 2007, the Sheriff handled 461 cases with a total of 449 defendants, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Susann Griffin said in a statement.
Those cases, she said, resulted in the seizure of more than 346,700 grams of drugs (more than 764 pounds). Additionally, the sheriff’s office seized $727,156 in cash and 19 vehicles.
“We took about $15 million worth of drugs, off the streets and out of the hands of kids, that’s best part,” Sheriff David Crenshaw said in an interview.
Since the award is given based statistical information submitted by participating agencies, the sheriff’s office had best numbers, in terms drug busts and seizures of all 2,500 participating law enforcement agencies in the United States and Canada, the release said.“It really helps your pride a little bit, it’s even sweeter because it’s your peers who give it to you. It’s really sought after in the law enforcement community,” the sheriff said.
Kudos to Sheriff Crenshaw and his department. He will get my vote in June :)

To all of those who like to be critical of the deputies, Crenshaw, and anyone in his department:
I would like to see you do their job better. It is real easy to make negative comments when you are not the one putting your life on the line to protect law abiding citizens from stupid people and criminals.

This just shows how bad things are getting and I am only afraid they are going to get worse. :(

This is one of the reasons my husband opted for our family not to go the the Soiree this year. We were there for less than a half hour last year and saw three people get arrested.

I am a Christian but I believe Sundays should be all or nothing. What I mean by that is people say we should be at church or at home on Sundays spending time with family not out drinking or shopping before 1:30 pm. What about the people who work in these professions such as you server or your cashier at the local supermarket. You would be screaming real quick if they wasn't someone to serve you, check out your groceries, or accept your payment for gas. People say it will keep families from spending time together. Well, news flash, people who don't want family time will not have family time regardless of whether or not you can serve alcohol on Sundays. Personally, I am glad Anderson is starting to move foward and at least Anderson will be seeing more money instead of having money spent in Greenville on Sundays because of this ridiculous law that has been in place for as long as I can remember.
