As I commented on a similar article, I am proud of her or anyone else who makes it that far. But for AIM to say that's "....the best thing that has happened to Anderson"??? Does the writer think that little of our community to say that's the BEST thing about Anderson? Come on, now.

I am happy for her but for the newspaper article to say "...Hanks is one of the best things that has happened to Anderson". Before these articles about the program, I have never heard of her before. I think it's saying very little about our community if that's the best thing that has happend to Anderson.

Another title that makes no sense. If this woman was "too close" to her child, as in a close bond, she would have made sure the child was buckled and safe.

I agree, the title makes no sense. I've noticed a lot of this writer's stories have titles that make no sense to the subject being written about.

The AIM did such a big spread story on Dickson, why not do one on the victims??
I was kinda appalled that so much attention is focused on him, what about the victims?

Yes, I believe the parents are partially to blame but what about the teachers of these 2 students. Do they just let kids wander the halls whenever they want? My child goes to McCants and any time that I've had to go to the school (early dismissal), there are kids EVERYWHERE just wandering around, being loud and obnoxious. TEACHERS need to take control while our kids are in school.

This is very sad. I visit Pete's at least 3 times a week on my lunch break. George always made a point to speak to everyone, even if they were very busy in the midst of the lunchtime crowd. His wife brought their children in there all the time & everyone just loved those kids. He will be missed dearly & our prayers go out to his family.
