Brace yourselves for a goodbye "middle finger". Neither of these matters are sooooo important they couldn't wait for the next council to take them up. I have my suspicions this last minute meeting is for more than what they are letting on. Linda has lost all credibility with the rest of them and can't be believed and they have already done questionable things so what is going to stop them. They have shown they are capable of anything. Any guesses for the last day surprise?

Coming from the genius that tried to push the penny tax on us, supported the Preston buyout, supported the Cunningham hiring, is fighting tooth and nail to keep the actions of our county government secret, clapped and rejoiced gleefully at every screwing we have gotten as a county and all the other moronic activity of this lame duck council, that almost sounds like an apology!
One day you'll man up and know what you have promoted and applauded has really hurt alot of people.

Okay, so now you have spent thirty minutes speaking about something no one asked. I ask again, what is your point. Your original post was about how we should be sorry for losing McNair and Martin. I just asked, why should we care. He didn't represent us. Seems to me we've been on the screwing end of his expertise. So I agree it is terrible for you he is leaving...I guess. You seem to think so anyway. Again a bunch of unneeded facts, for a question no one asked. Well done.

I really don't care who Martin/McNair has represented. He hasn't been representing my or the citizens best interests, he has been representing Preston. How do I know he hasn't been representing us? Because he can't tell us anything about anything, as it would violate attorney-client privilege. Therefore we must not be his clients. We didn't show him out, although I am sure no one will block the door. He showed us what a terrific lawyer he is by the employment contract he wrote for Joey (and possibly Cunningham). So, other than stating nothing but the obvious, what's your point?

The fact is she asked you not to address her. Why don't you just speak your little piece to the general public without addressing her personally. She feels you are harassing her and unless you are some kind of perv or stalker or something, you can leave her alone.
Yes, facts are a funny thing. Hard to escape without changing the subject. That's why you try so hard to do just that. In sixty days you won't even know where Anderson, S.C. is. We will.

Conspiracy? I don't know if it is a conspiracy. But it is happening. This is the javascript code of a procedure call called hideComments.js. This permits AIM to block the public from seeing the posted comments.
function hideComments() {
// error checking
if (!document.getElementsByTagName || !document.createElement || !document.getElementById || !document.createTextNode) return false;
if (!document.getElementById("comments_listandform")) return false;
// create hide/show comments text and link
var hideLink = document.createElement("a");
hideLink.setAttribute("href", "#");
var hideText = document.createTextNode("Leave the conversation »");
var showText = document.createTextNode("Join the conversation »");
hideLink.appendChild(showText);
var countPrompt = document.getElementById("count_prompt")
// get the comments div, insert the hide option
var comments = document.getElementById("comments_listandform");
countPrompt.appendChild(hideLink);
// hide comments on page load
comments.style.display = "none";
// event for showing/hiding comments div
hideLink.onclick = function() {
if (comments.style.display == "none") {
comments.style.display = "block";
hideLink.replaceChild(hideText, showText);
return false;
} else {
comments.style.display = "none";
hideLink.replaceChild(showText, hideText);
} return false;
}
}
Does it not bother you that AIM would block readers from reading contributions based solely on if the comments agree with the newspaper's point of view or not?

Uhmm, that laughter has sounded a little nervous lately. A few more chuckles are yet to come. I'm sure we'll all get a good laugh (well maybe not SOME of us).

Yes, I temporarily disappeared yesterday. All I did, was point out the fact that AIM appears to be tinkering with the Most Commented area in favor of their editorials promoting actions of the County Council’s buyout of Preston's contract and the hiring of Cunningham. Also, I pointed out and posted the webpage coding blocking the viewing of reader's responses in the "rumors" article. Even now their piece about Cunningham being suited for the job has zero comments and yet is second highest in the lineup. The socalled "rumor" article has disappeared altogether. It just looks like AIM wants to spin, propagandize and misinform the public without anyone's interference and if you point it out (or even worse prove it) they ban you from the site. That is the problem with this electronic media, nothing is static. AIM routinely changes it’s electronic articles after the fact and instead of doing what other reputable newspapers do and make the changes at the end (or beginning) and notating the change, they change the writings of the original article. That is a very unethical way of “past posting” the readers and commenters.

First it was javascript and now it is HTML. Can you not make up your mind what your story is? Show me in the rest of the articles, exactly where that block of code is. AIM has now even gone so far as to change the "rumors" article page even further to where it shows no comments being posted and taking down posts as fast as people can put them up. We must be getting hot onto something!

I am unable to identify with the activities of these individuals and therefore I will be as surprised as you are. All of their prior actions resonate evil and greed.
Lemmings follow to their death, sheep have their shepherd. You/We have to witness it to believe it. Everything left in the dark by secrecy, will be unwitnessed. To enact change we have to believe it necessary. Therefore it is socially responsible for us to bring light to the darkness so it may be witnessed, believed and changed. We are living in a world of general apathy and nothing less will suffice to satisfy a responsible representation of the public good.
