The black pageants were started when they could not get in the other pagents. There are not Miss white pageants there are Miss America and Miss USA, Miss Teen. So what white pagents are you talking about and yes if a white person wanted to be in the Miss black pagent they could be in. Anyway when was there a Miss black pagent anyway. That was about 15 years ago.

Those programs are based on income. My son got excepted but I had to pay full price which was $70.00 a week, and then if I took him before 8:00 it was $15.00 and then if he stayed after 230 it was another $15.00. It was $20.00 a week more then the daycare he was in so I left him in daycareand he could stay at least 9 hours for me to work. They has a 3k and 4k and taught him more then he would have learned there anyway. When he went to kindergarden he was a step ahead of some of the other kids.

Great Job Southwood, Keep up the good work. I think you have some outstanding programs and that is why your kids are doing do well each year.

Aurie went to Southwood Middle School, not Lakeside.
I am so proud of her for all her accomplishments both in school and out.

I am just 39 years old and I have seen both white and black racists. I know there are some hate groups but there are some groups that do stand up for the rights of all people. They may have been created to help one race but will help others.
Gangs, both white gangs and black gangs hate on everyone, but they are not hate groups they are unruly, half raised thugs that were not loved enough.
Some of you say that people of color get preferential treatment for jobs and university enrollment but that is not true. The white to black ratios on jobs and universities proves it. Also best believe if a black gets a job over a white person then they are qualified and most are over qualified.
I do not agree about the Miss Black america pagents and I do not agree about black history month, but I have found that if we did not have it people would not know about all the great things that people of color have done. It is not taught otherwise.
A lot of stuff was put in place to get this country back on track with everyone being equal. We still are not there.
Also the only colleges black kids could go to were black colleges. They were created a long time ago no reflection on today. White students do attend those colleges. It is just a name but a part of history.
