All of you are pathetic. You set in front of your computers ready to attack. It is obvious that you
do not have a life. You not only hate everything good, you really hate yourself. You need to call the rejected politician nut case in Belton who writes editorials to fuel his own ego and start a club called “I hate everything”. Have you ever had any concern for anyone but yourself?
Truly pathetic.

In response to the Flash
I do not know who you think I am, but I have never aligned myself with any group or party. I have never attended a political rally and only have attended one council meeting in 2000.
I detest the ridiculous name calling of the Tax Payers and the just as ridiculous refusal to take control of Preston by county council. I have little respect for Joey Preston or Rick Driver.
I guess they can not throw me out as I am not a member.
What I want to know is what makes you and so many like so rude about everything.
Evidently your are a complete failure in life, two feet tall, and have to hide behind the computer to feel big.

On Do election results equal a political shift on Anderson County Council?

I agree totally on the out of control charges. A full an open accounting must be in place. Why we would provide a hotel room in the customers back yard is beyond me. I travel to New York City on business and sometimes I pay 6-7 hundred dollars per night for a room to be close to my customer, but $1600, never will I. All I am trying to say is that other counties are marketing their location and that sometimes will require travel. This should be an open process without revealing the name of the company.
Thanks for the polite comments.
We agree on most things...........wwbrown

OK taxpayers, I am looking forward to my property tax cut. The 2 or 3 hundred thousand dollars that were spent on credit cards will not help much, although I totally agree that the lack of control and reporting was ridiculous. I predict that we will see little if any decrease in our taxes. It is easy to make irresponsible statements about what we will do if elected, but much more difficult when you sit in the hot seat. We will hear excuses like “we did not know it was this bad”. We also expect the so called slush funds such as the “paving and recreation accounts” that are totally legal and fully used by Ms. Wilson (although this was over looked by her buddies) to be eliminated. The wording “slush funds” was used over and over in your ads; we as tax payers are expecting these to be eliminated. We expect more.
I am not a member of the either tax payers group. Eddie Moore had my respect and my vote until the last week or so before the election, but the “Barbie” ad that accused every woman that works for Anderson County of being a prostitute or at the minimum willing to provide sexual favors for their jobs. Shame on you Eddie Moore!
The local “Rick Driver” radio show was also a major part of the victory. I do congratulate each candidate for their victory. But, the things that are said on the show are beyond believable. Rick Driver is a businessman and a darn good one. He has gone from an employee of an insignificant AM station to the owner of one of the most popular stations in the area. It is to his benefit to stir the pot because the word gets out and even folks like me that cringe at some of the things that are said listen just to be informed. And to the callers, although each of you contributed to the winds or change, you lose all credibility with me and many more when you resort to name calling. The core of your statement will be just as strong without it, but evidently most listeners are excited by this display of bad behavior. What does this really say about them?
Also, I will wait for your calls on the “Rick Show” about your buddies you helped elect. Will you give them a pass? I also predict that the economic development of Anderson County will not match up to what the current group had accomplished. You known, when you carry those potential business executives to McDonalds and ask them to pay for their own meals because of “policy”, do not expect them back! Your group appears to have zero appreciation for the quality of life issues such as recreation, emergency services, the arts, museums, and many other things that potential big business clients value as much as roads and bridges. To be successful you need to take off your tunnel vision glasses.
Congratulations again on your big win. I do not think this major turnover is a bad thing, I do think it could be if the animosity and anger can not be put aside for the good of Anderson County. I and many more will be watching.

cwilson, why are you wasting your time in Anderson? Obviously you are the smartest person in the world. You should run for President of the World. Of course your record of volunteering and helping others would come into play and may hurt you, but I admit, you are just to smart for it to make a difference Charles.

You Cindy Wilson supporters can spin it any way you want, but the simple fact is she was told NO! No you can not get what you want when you want it without reguard for anything or anyboby else.
You folks lose all credibility when you start name calling. It is a childess immature behavior.
You need to accept that I see this different that you and it does not make me stupid. I think your view is narrow and obsessive, but I do not think you are stupid. Your group would get a lot more respect if your name calling would stop.

Same old tired broken record Bob. You lost the election more than once. The voters of Belton said they trust someone other than you. There should be a limit on how many times your negative options are printed.

Obviously you are a negative pessimistic person. I am sorry you have to live your life this way.
The Belton Festival was the largest ever. I attended the car show yesterday late morning and
returned for the Beech Springs Church band and the Double Take and Friends Band. The crowd
was shoulder to shoulder all day and especially last night. Several vendors sold out of food.
As for the the amount of stores that are closed, you are wrong. The stores that are closed are
Mattison Hardware, the owner passed away recently, half of the former Wilsons Dime store, the former “Roosters restraurant” which is being remodeled for reopening, and the old Belton Center for the Arts building which is being remodeled for an upscale restraurant. There may be one or two more, but nowhere near half.
A new CVS Pharmacy and a new Kentucky fried Chicken are near completion. Have you been to Belton on Saturday night? The Depot and the Art center constantly have well attended events.
The Four Seasons Catering facility is always busy. Do not make the mistake of under estimating the citizens of Belton. I am not one, but I attend the events there and I am amazed at the progress of this town.
Small towns are in transition all over this great country. Belton, Honea Path and Williamston
seem to be handling the changes. If you think having traditional stores on the town square in small towns and cities is part of the future, you are wrong. Many challenges are ahead, but do not expect most of the rest of us to live in your world of pessimism.
